Barack Obama’s myspace hasn’t been updated since 2011. No wonder our country is failing.

The piece of land I share space with other people on is largely populated by total idiots and assholes. But don’t worry - most of them are too broke to afford a plane ticket to the UK. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Seriously not feeling the 4th this year.
wow are we serious rn
People, this is not why we fought for independence. Enough.
Nope, not putting up with this shit on “bitches stole my land” day.

Privacy is eroding fast as technology offers government increasing ways to track and spy on citizens. The Washington Post reported there are 3,984 federal, state and local organizations working on domestic counterterrorism. Most collect information on people in the US. Here are thirteen examples of how some of the biggest government agencies and programs track people.
One. The National Security Agency (NSA) collects hundreds of millions of emails, texts and phone calls every day and has the ability to collect and sift through billions more. WIRED just reported NSA is building an immense new data center which will intercept, analyze and store even more electronic communications from satellites and cables across the nation and the world. Though NSA is not supposed to focus on US citizens, it does.
Two. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Security Branch Analysis Center (NSAC) has more than 1.5 billion government and private sector records about US citizens collected from commercial databases, government information, and criminal probes.
Three. The American Civil Liberties Union and the New York Times recently reported that cellphones of private individuals in the US are being tracked without warrants by state and local law enforcement all across the country. With more than 300 million cellphones in the US connected to more than 200,000 cell phone towers, cellphone tracking software can pinpoint the location of a phone and document the places the cellphone user visits over the course of a day, week, month or longer.
Four. More than 62 million people in the US have their fingerprints on file with the FBI, state and local governments. This system, called the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS), shares information with 43 states and 5 federal agencies. This system conducts more than 168,000 checks each day.
Five. Over 126 million people have their fingerprints, photographs and biographical information accessible on the US Department of Homeland Security Automated Biometric Identification System (IDENT). This system conducts about 250,000 biometric transactions each day. The goal of this system is to provide information for national security, law enforcement, immigration, intelligence and other Homeland Security Functions.
Six. More than 110 million people have their visas and more than 90 million have their photographs entered into the US Department of State Consular Consolidated Database (CCD). This system grows by adding about 35,000 people a day. This system serves as a gateway to the Department of State Facial Recognition system, IDENT and IAFSIS.
Seven. DNA profiles on more than 10 million people are available in the FBI coordinated Combined DNA index System (CODIS) National DNA Index.
Eight. Information on more than 2 million people is kept in the Intelligence Community Security Clearance Repository, commonly known as Scattered Castles. Most of the people in this database are employees of the Department of Defense (DOD) and other intelligence agencies.
Nine. The DOD also has an automated biometric identification system (ABIS) to support military operations overseas. This database incorporates fingerprint, palm print, face and iris matching on 6 million people and is adding 20,000 more people each day.
Ten. Information on over 740,000 people is included in the Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment (TIDE) of the National Counterterrorism Center. TIDE is the US government central repository of information on international terrorist identities. The government says that less than 2 percent of the people on file are US citizens or legal permanent residents. They were just given permission to keep their non-terrorism information on US citizens for a period of five years, up from 180 days.
Eleven. Tens of thousands of people are subjects of facial recognition software. The FBI has been working with North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles and other state and local law enforcement on facial recognition software in a project called “Face Mask.” For example, the FBI has provided thousands of photos and names to the North Carolina DMV which runs those against their photos of North Carolina drivers. The Maricopa Arizona County Sheriff’s Office alone records 9,000 biometric mug shots a month.
Twelve. The FBI operates the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative (SAR) that collects and analyzes observations or reports of suspicious activities by local law enforcement. With over 160,000 suspicious activity files, SAR stores the profiles of tens of thousands of Americans and legal residents who are not accused of any crime but who are alleged to have acted suspiciously.
Thirteen. The FBI admits it has about 3,000 GPS tracking devices on cars of unsuspecting people in the US right now, even after the US Supreme Court decision authorizing these only after a warrant for probable cause has been issued.
Despite its oil well causing the worst spill in U.S. history, oil giant BP has enjoyed increased business with the Department of Defense.Sales of BP fuel to the Pentagon rose 33%, from $1.02 billion in 2010—when the Gulf of Mexico became fouled with oil—to $1.35 billion in 2011.BP is by far and away the No. 1 supplier of fuel to the military, receiving 49% more in defense contracts than the No. 2 supplier, Valero Energy Corp.Representative Edward Markey (D-Massachusetts), the top Democrat on the House Natural Resources Committee, told Bloomberg “our military shouldn’t renew lucrative contracts” for the company, not “when BP still owes billions of dollars in possible fines and penalties for their spill in the Gulf of Mexico.”Defense contract decisions are made by the Defense Logistics Agency, which has been headed since November 2011 by Vice Admiral Mark D. Harnitchek.According to a database kept by the Project on Government Oversight (POGO), since 2000 BP has paid more than $2.6 billion in fines, penalties and settlements as a result of 58 cases of misconduct that have included environmental and labor violations, contract fraud and antitrust activities in the United States. It currently has 19 separate misconduct cases pending, most of them dealing with the Gulf of Mexico oil rig explosion and oil spill. How does this make ANY sense at all?
Americans like to boast that we’re “the freest country on earth,” and yet half of the population doesn’t even feel free enough to go for a walk at night. Unlike the status of women in Afghanistan under the ghastly Taliban, women in the United States are allowed to go out. Fanatic men in government in government don’t issue edicts to prevent them from exercising their basic freedom of movement. Instead, the widespread fear of men’s violence does the trick.” -Jackson Katz
This Thomas Jefferson quote is conveniently ignored by those who treat the Founding Fathers as semi-divine figures and insist on an “originalist” interpretation of the Constitution.
For all you clowns who justified Obama’s silence over the execution of Troy Davis:
President Obama is asking the Supreme Court to stay tomorrow’s planned execution of a Mexican citizen in Texas, arguing it could do “irreparable harm” to U.S. interests abroad.
In 1994, Humberto Leal Garcia Jr. was convicted of rape and murder and sentenced to death. Few are contesting his guilt, but an omission in the handling of his case may make things tough for American citizens arrested abroad: Leal wasn’t told that he could contact the Mexican Consulate.
The Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, a treaty that includes 170 countries, says a foreigner who is arrested must be allowed access to her home country’s consulate. The International Court of Justice ruled in 2004 that U.S. states’ sentencing of 54 Mexican citizens to death without allowing them to contact the Mexican Consulate was a violation of the treaty. Then-president George W. Bush ordered Texas to review its policies, but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2008 that neither Texas nor any U.S. state could be held to an international treaty unless Congress passed a law binding them to it.
Now, President Obama is asking the Supreme Court to stay the execution until Congress passes such legislation, which was recently introduced in the Senate. The administration says the execution would do “irreparable harm” to U.S. interests abroad.
I don’t fucking believe this…
WOW. today is one giant pile of fucking fail for the US government.
Making today different from most other days—how, exactly?
Barack Obama gave his speech at the UN on the Palestinian statehood and other international issues. If not clear already, the attention the U.S. gets for their stance and position on Israel and Palestine shows how much of an influence they have and have had with the conflict for many years. The Palestinian Liberation Organization and Abbas who can still abandon the bid, are being pressured by the US and European Union to back down. The US proposed further talks and negotiations with Israel and even proposed slashing aid for the PLO. The first can be seen as a useless threat since the renewed ‘talks’ convinced Abbas to seek Security Council but the PLO depend heavily on foreign aid, especially that of the US and the European Union. The US gave the PA roughly $470m last year, more than 10 per cent of the authority’s budget. Various lawmakers, Republican and Democrat, have suggested cutting that aid after the UN vote. [source]
And according to congressional hearing, if cutting aid is of little threat, then other ideas included, ”shutting the PLO’s mission in Washington and auditing Abbas’ personal finances.”
In his speech, President Obama made it clear about the tight relationship between Israel and the US so to those for the Palestinian statehood, it is pointless to bring that up. The thing we should bring up is that there are no mentions to why this is the case. Although he did not make or even attempt to say where the US stands on the Palestinian statehood, there is a tone of opposition. At the same time there wasn’t even any direct reference towards the UN bid for Palestinian statehood as well as the pre-1967 borders. Further more, Obama has even went as far to victimize Israel without mentions of the terrors on the Palestinian side or anyone else.America’s commitment to Israel’s security is unshakeable, and our friendship with Israel is deep and enduring. And so we believe that any lasting peace must acknowledge the very real security concerns that Israel faces every single day. Let’s be honest: Israel is surrounded by neighbors that have waged repeated wars against it. Israel’s citizens have been killed by rockets fired at their houses and suicide bombs on their buses. Israel’s children come of age knowing that throughout the region, other children are taught to hate them. Israel, a small country of less than eight million people, looks out at a world where leaders of much larger nations threaten to wipe it off of the map. The Jewish people carry the burden of centuries of exile, persecution, and the fresh memory of knowing that six million people were killed simply because of who they were.
For example, the suicide bombing on the bus was a reference to the recent terror attack which resulted in air strikes on Gaza committed by the Israeli government, killing almost double the civilian deaths than that of the suicide bombing even though the suicide bomber and others involved in the attack were killed.
He has even simplified the situation for the Jewish people, justifying the existence of Israel and it’s violent creation with the holocaust. It is as if statehood is the only way of serving justice for exile and persecution of a group of people. That would make the Palestinian statehood an important issue for the US then. One year ago, I stood at this podium and called for an independent Palestine. I believed then – and I believe now – that the Palestinian people deserve a state of their own. But what I also said is that genuine peace can only be realized between Israelis and Palestinians themselves… Peace will not come through statements and resolutions at the UN – if it were that easy, it would have been accomplished by now. Ultimately, it is Israelis and Palestinians who must live side by side. Ultimately, it is Israelis and Palestinians – not us – who must reach agreement on the issues that divide them: on borders and security; on refugees and Jerusalem.
It is understandable why the Palestinians would be upset with Obama’s speech and even feel betrayed. But on his speech on other countries in the middle-east, he made a strong point about the revolutions and gave support for the ‘people.’ On Syria, he says:The question for us is clear: will we stand with the Syrian people or with their oppressors?
Now is the time for the United Nations security council to sanction the Syrian regime and to stand with the Syrian people.
Obama then moves on to Yemen and Bahrain:“America is a close friend of Bahrain but America will always stand up for the universal rights endorsed by the UN.”
And comparing this to the issue of Palestine, he has never mentioned the fight for the Palestinians. America is a close friend of Israel, but where is the stand for universal rights for the Palestinian people?
My favorite part:
Peace will not come through statements and resolutions at the UN – if it were that easy, it would have been accomplished by now.
Maybe so, especially if America didn’t veto pretty much anything pro-Palestine ever introduced to the UN.
It’s ironic that the United States likes to think itself “ahead” of most of the rest of the world. Clearly that is not the case; we are clearly behind on the fundamental issue that is justice and fairness.
I just showed this map to a friend earlier tonight, prior to the murder.

The US Ambassador to Israel stated Sunday on CNN that the US stands as the only model for democracy and freedom for the emerging Mid-Eastern nations undergoing the Arab Spring. This, of course, was in the same breath he used to deny Palestine the right to acknowledged statehood in the UN. If America is the only model for such freedom, let us then project upon a new Mid-East what this would mean. To model themselves upon us, if we truly wish to exercise some national self-insight, would mean implementing the following eight-step formula:
-Tax the struggling middle class out of existence while continuing to kowtow to the rich, special interest groups, and transnational corporations that line the pockets of politicians with the fruits of their greed and apathy towards the Earth.
-When cuts are needed in government spending, accelerate what is spent on your national war machine, and put your children’s education, assistance to the poor, and elderly benefits on the cutting block.
-Continue to rape and pillage the land for resources burned up faster than flames on kerosene-soaked tissue, and when you’ve used all of your own up, invade other countries for their resources under the pretense of false fears, ignorance, and propaganda.
-Take away the rights of the people to gather and dissent peacefully, set up a massive police state and surveillance apparatus to monitor all, and teach the people to monitor and report on each other if they see anything ambiguously “suspicious.”
-Make sure that your mass media is flooded with worthless coverage about celebrities, sports, and fear-based stories so that your population won’t be informed and educated on real issues, but put to sleep by the smoke and mirrors, bread and circus of entertainment corporations owned by the same companies that lobby and leash our leaders.
-Militarize your police and give them every empty excuse to invade the populace’s privacy under the pretense of “safety.” Attach unrealistic fines to minor violations so that more revenue can be generated for the state and more economic self-determination taken from the masses.
-Condition the children for future serfdom by taking away a student’s right to self-defense in schools, teaching them that all violence and physical resistance to force is wrong regardless of whether you are the criminal aggressor or innocent defender.
-Lastly, enforce invasive groping upon an individual’s body by government thugs as a prerequisite for utilizing air transportation or going to a sporting event.
Sounds great, doesn’t it? Trouble is, this isn’t the formula for America that I was taught growing up. It is rather, the formula of Orwell’s Oceana.
